Need an innovative Learning Designer? Let’s chat …

Change is the end result of all true learning. –  Leo Buscaglia

You may know me as a freelance Melbourne copywriter, but beyond this worthy pursuit I’ve been beavering away at a digital learning agency as a Learning Designer. I’ve LOOOVED this role, but all good things must come to an end and now I’m taking the opportunity to add learning experience design to my suite of freelance offerings.

As you peruse this post, I’m constructing a fancy website dedicated to all things learning design — including samples of my work. In the meantime, continue reading to learn more about my new offering, and drop me a line if you could use a learning designer who’s passionate about creating innovative experiences that hit the mark …

Do you need an engaging online or print learning experience that creates real change?

Learning experiences that speak to your target audience to spark change are worth investing in. But making sure you get the design process right is a BIG job. This is where I can help …

Great learning outcomes come from understanding learners and their needs.

As a seasoned learning designer, I’ve worked in EdTech developing student-centred digital learning experiences for international and local clients across government, education, corporate, the arts, and non-profit sectors.

With a background in education, copywriting, and journalism, I’m confident working through the entire design process — from consultation and workshop facilitation to storyboarding and creating interactive UX designed experiences using a range of authoring tools.

Don’t want a digital resource? No worries, I do print too. As an ex-teacher I’m a pro at writing curriculum-aligned resources across subjects and year levels.

Training doesn’t need to be as dry as an old twig … As a professional storyteller it’s my job to turn even the driest material into compelling content, ensuring it sticks and your learners leave glowing with enlightenment.

Furthermore, I’m happy to work solo or as an enthusiastic member of your team …

Let me help you step your learners up a notch, by:

  • Meeting with you to gain a solid understanding of the scope of your project

  • Conducting a needs analysis

  • Creating and facilitating kick-off and discovery workshops — online or f2f

  • Consulting with SMEs and stakeholders at all stages of development

  • Collating and analysing new and existing information, research, and data

  • Developing a project concept that outlines the problem, your learners’ requirements, the instructional / informational / technical approach, and the solution

  • Scriptwriting for film or audio, and managing AV crews

  • Interviewing

  • Storyboarding with client, developer, and visual designer instruction in mind

  • Authoring a meaningful, interactive, student-centred, narrative driven learning experience, or working with your creative team to make this happen

  • Liaising with you and your client throughout the process to ensure a project outcome that hits the mark every time!

But I need a copywriter not a learning designer!

No problem, I’m still here for you …

I can lend a hand with marketing support, mentoring, SEO website copywriting, proofreading and editing, creative copy, a new LinkedIn profile, and a bunch of other stuff.
